show in town, the blindingly colourful market. It’s a Central Asian Tower
of Babel, full of the dresses and
shawls, hats and turbans of every nationality, and paradise for photographers, souvenir hunters and vegetarians. Crowded early mornings and weekends are best. Around it are the narrow streets of the sun-dried old town, most of it behind high walls. |
